In the history of Text Message Voting, a race has never been so close.

The margin was slim, and among thousands of messages, some victories were claimed by only 5 votes.

CHIC 2009

The massive triennial event for high school students of the Evangelical Covenant Church, shook the town Knoxville, Tennessee for 5 days filled with worship, learning, growth, and community.

Each day was filled to the brim with activities and each evening closed with incredible worship from bands like David Crowder Band, Israel & New Breed, Flyleaf, and Third Day. Following the bass thumping, concert-like worship set, talented speakers such as Shane Claiborne, Steven Furtick, and Erwin McManus, shared their gifts and spoke the truths of the gospel to over 5,500 students.

Jarbyco was thrilled to be a part of of the experience. Students sent in messages that scrolled across the screens before the bands performed. 10,000 eyeballs were glued to those screens waiting to see who will propose next or when to scream when their home state was displayed.

CHIC also had a Battle of the Bands competition where students voted the winner via text message.

Willow Wonder

Last week Willow Creek launched yet another fantastic and powerful conference. We were fortunate to be a part of Willow’s Arts Conference; WONDER. The week was filled with engaging speakers, dynamic worship, learning, networking, and a chance for the Arts and Communications leaders to share their gifts with one another.

The mobile phone played a huge roll in the conference for all who attended. Audience members were able to text in questions to Hillsong United’s Darlene Zschech, where she answered questions that applied to creative directors, worship leaders, and the like.

During a Film Festival, the audience was able to vote for the winners of each category as well as best in show.
