Rethinking Capital Campaigns
Tim Schraeder of Park Community Church in Chicago (truly a leader in leveraging text messaging) recently posted a fantastic “how-to” on using text messaging in their capital campaign. Quick Highlights: - Over half the church signed up to receive updates via text - Polls were used to better understand their audience - The majority of the congregation sent in commitments via...

CHIC 2009
The massive triennial event for high school students of the Evangelical Covenant Church, shook the town Knoxville, Tennessee for 5 days filled with worship, learning, growth, and community. Each day was filled to the brim with activities and each evening closed with incredible worship from bands like David Crowder Band, Israel & New Breed, Flyleaf, and Third Day. Following the bass...

Willow Wonder
Last week Willow Creek launched yet another fantastic and powerful conference. We were fortunate to be a part of Willow’s Arts Conference; WONDER. The week was filled with engaging speakers, dynamic worship, learning, networking, and a chance for the Arts and Communications leaders to share their gifts with one another. The mobile phone played a huge roll in the conference for all who...

"We got questions that people would not have...
This is one of the blunt realizations that Lead Pastor Scott Hodge came to, after a weekend service where audience members were able to text in their financial woes and questions. For the program, The Orchard invited a financial planner to the stage and paired his professional expertise with solid biblical truths, then invited the congregation to address their financial struggles anonymously...

Text CONVOY to 47201 for a Sweet Hoodie! Gone are the days where you throw out t.shirts into the crowd for promotional gimmick in hopes that someone will wear your free XXL t.shirt. Convoy of Hope (imagine the Peace Corps driven by the mission of Jesus) wanted a unique, creative, fun, relational and somewhat out of the box way to connect with students at the World Missions Summit in...

ECO YES or ECO NO
With the stock market and economy in peril, Park Community Church challenged their congregation to examine what they are truly putting their faith in. A live audience poll was administered uncovering some staggering results about people’s financial woes. For a description on how they integrated the poll with their programming CHECK OUT TIM SCHRAEDER’S BLOG

ASPEN!!
Everything is bigger in Texas….except the ski. Lake Ridge United Methodist’s Youth Min took a group of students to Aspen for a retreat filled with skiing, worship, and time to hang out. The staff was able to mass communicate to the parents multiple times a day through text messaging; updating them on travel info, the bus driver regime change, and the overall safety of the trip....

Christmas Wishes
Sagemont Church in Texas held a massive outreach event just before Christmas, inviting people from all over the community to hang out, hear about Jesus, and play in snow (yes snow in Texas). After taking their seats for the evening service, people were able to do more than twiddle their thumbs while waiting for the program to begin. Audience members were able to text in what they wanted for...

FEED ME
Sometimes it takes a little reminder to read your Bible every day. In Student Impact’s current series: SELF_FEEDING, they do just that. They put a 30 Day Scripture Challenge on the table, encouraging students to dig into the Word every day for the month of December. For thirty days, at 6am or 8pm, students can receive a text message with that day’s Scripture reading and a sneak peek at one of...

Text Questions about....
Elevation Church thought big and opened communications lines even further with their congregation by teaming up with JARBYCO. They started using us during a series called “Revolutionary Love Dream Sex”, and gave the audience a chance to ask some really (really) personal questions to the pastor via mobile phone, saving them from severe blushing had they been on a mic. Tough questions created a...

VOX Film Festival
The crowd was lit with cell phones this morning at the Impact Vox Film Festival. Willow Creek Community Church put on a film festival this weekend at student impact and had JARBYCO power the texting. This was a huge success as we saw over 70 percent participation at the event. Students were able to vote on their favorite film at the festival and the JARBYCO polls delivered instant results!

I would have to say that Park Community Church here in Chicago is really using JARBYCO to the fullest. They have been thinking outside the box and working with us to come up with some really cutting edge solutions by using text messaging inside the church format. I could go on and on about all the things they have already done with us, however a few things really stand out to me. One is that...

Drink Coffee. Do Good.
This is the mission of The Land of A Thousand Hills Coffee company. They sell fair trade Rwandan grown coffee that provides a living Wage to coffee growers, micro-finances loans to widows, and engages redemption in a very tangible way across the world. JARBYCO helped them fulfill that mission at the Catalyst Conference (Atlanta, GA) by allowing churches the chance to win one year of FREE coffee...

Ministry Com
Hundreds of Communications-Ministry-Minded individuals met up in Oklahoma City this week to add to each others “programming tool belts”. At this 3 day conference, ideas were swapped, conversations were had, relationships were built, and inspiration was sparked as the men and women behind the scenes of ministry added to their church’s creative box. JARBYCO’s presence was...

INNOVATE08
Granger Church used JARBYCO to power their film festival at the INOVATE08 conference. I was personally there to see it all go down. It was great! Members of the audience watched short films and then voted on their favorite film in each category. It felt like I was at the MTV movie awards mixed with American Idol voting. JARBYCO was able to deliver real time voting on each category. I sat and...

Willow Creek Community Church is using JARBYCO again! This time for their INFLUENCE series. Honestly it makes us happy to work with them on this because of the way the technology is being used. ITS BEING DONE EXACTLY RIGHT on and that’s the only reason I share. Each Friday during the series a text is sent out to remind people not only about service times and topic for the weekend…...

Kanye, Cee-Lo, Lupe Fiasco. Powered by Jarbyco
This year at Lollapalooza the after party scene was more intense than ever. Every venue in the city had something going on and some special artist showing up. One special guest decided to promote his after party at the Hard Rock using JARBYCO to power the list. They didn’t want the public to know the location of the party until the day of. Traditionally this would be incredibly hard to do...
